The Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only in thick or foggy weather. The elevation given is the height of focal plane above high water.
AUSTRALIA NORTH COAST.
Clarence Straits.
Henry Ellis Reef-Light Buoy to be established.
MARINERS and others are hereby notified that a Light Buoy showing a group flashing red light will be established off Henry Ellis Reef on or about 16th August, 1918.
Position.-The Light Buoy will be moored in about 15 fathoms of water at a dis- tance of about 2 cables off the north-eastern end of Henry Ellis Reef. Position will be approximately:--
Lat. 12° 05′ S.; Long. 131° 00′ E. on Chart 1095.
