No. S. 113. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Repairs to Steam-Launch 'H. D.3", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Thursday, the 23rd May, 1918.

A list of work may be obtained at the Government Marine Surveyor's Office. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender. The work to be carried out to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor.

No. S. 114.-It is hereby notified that Government Notification No. S. 287 dated 9th November, 1917, is hereby cancelled except so far as it relates to Lots sold subject to the conditions therein contained, and it is hereby notified with reference to Govern- ment Notifications Nos. 697 of 1909 and 278 of 1911 that the following Special Condition of Sale is added to the Special Conditions contained in the aforesaid Notifications and will be referred to by the Number given to it in this Notification:

SPECIAL CONDITION.

No. 6. No building shall be erected on the Lot until a plan of such building and a block plan shewing the position of the building on the Lot shall have been submitted to and approved by the District Officer if the Lot is situate in the Northern District, or the Assistant District Officer if the Lot is situate in the Southern District. A form of plan may be obtained at the Land Office (at Taipo or Hongkong) of the District in which such Lot is situate where assistance will be given in the preparation of a block plan. In the event of the purchaser desiring to build on lines different from those shewn on the said form he shall prepare plans at his own expense and submit the same for approval as aforesaid.

The building shall be subject to the following rules:-

1. The street or open space in front of any new building shall be at least 25

feet wide.

2. Open space belonging to the owner shall be provided at the rear of every new building and such open space shall have an area at least equal to half the roofed over area of the building.

3. In addition to such open space a scavenging lane shall be provided having a

width of 6 feet.

4. The depth of any new building shall not exceed 35 feet unless sufficient

lateral windows are provided.

5. The height of any building shall not exceed 25 feet nor shall any building exceed 2 storeys in height. No storey shall be less than 10 feet in height.
