Visible distance.--183 nautical miles in clear night.

Takow Lighthouse.

NOTICE is hereby given that on and after the night of the 10th March next, the existing light of Takow Lighthouse will be discontinued and in lieu thereof a new light will be shown as follows :—

Position. The same position as hitherto. (Lat., 22° 36′ 31" N.; Long., 120°

16′ 5′′ E.)

Construction and painting.-Octagonal Brick Tower, painted White.

Height of light from the base.---36 feet.

Height of light above the water.---191 feet.

Order and character of light-3rd Order Electric Alternating Light, showing

alternately Red and White of 10 seconds each.

Illuminated arc.-For an are of 198 degrees of horizon from N. 39° W.,

through

N. and E., to S. 21° E. The bearings are magnetic and from seaward.

Candle power. White Ray, 94,000; Red Ray, 37,000.

Distance visible. - 203 nautical miles.
