No. S. 47.--It is hereby notified that information has been received from H. B. M. Consul General, Bangkok, to the effect that Hongkong has been declared to be infected with cerebro-spinal meningitis and that all ships leaving after March 2nd, 1918, shall call at Koh Phra to get pratique.
No. S. 48.—It is hereby notified that information has been received from H. B. M. Consul at Amoy to the effect that quarantine has been imposed on all arrivals from Hongkong.
No. S. 49. It is hereby notified that information has been received by the Consul General for the United States of America from the quarantine authorities of the Philippine Islands to the effect that, pending the prevalence of cerebro-spinal meningitis in Hong- kong, passengers from Hongkong for the Philippine Islands should be furnished with a certificate to the effect that such passenger has not come in contact with cerebro-spinal meningitis within two weeks prior to sailing, such contact consisting in being associated with or in families or houses where cases have occurred. Such certificates are to be signed by the Hongkong Health Officer and to be visaed by the United States Public Health Service division of the Consulate General.
Persons arriving in the Philippines without such certificates will be required to register their names and addresses upon their landing and to report daily to the nearest health station for such period as may be necessary to determine that they are not likely to develop the disease. Failure to have certificates or to report to the health station after arrival in the Philippines will result in their detention under observation for such period as may be necessary.
