ORDINANCE No. 32 of 1939. (COMPULSORY SERVICE).
flis Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased, pursuant to Section 11 (7) of the Compul- sory Service Venance, 1939, to permit the following persons to quit the Hong Kong Defence Reserve :-
Ralston, Robert, with effect from 6th November, 1940.
Williams, Edward Samuel, with effect from 9th Novem-
ber, 1940.

In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regula- tion 6 of the Defence Regulations, 1940, and of all other powers thereunto him enabling, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government makes the following order-
1. No person shall send any Christmas, New Year or other greeting card by post to any destination outside this Colony unless-
(a) the cover, if any, is unsealed and clearly marked with the words "Greeting Card";
(b) the cover, if addressed to a destination outside the British Empire, contains nothing but a printed card, with the addition only of the sender's name and address.
2. Subject to the exemptions specified in paragraph 3, no person shall send any postal packet consisting of or con- taining any newspaper, newspaper cutting or book by post to any destination outside this Colony.
3. The provisions of paragraph 2 shall not apply to any newspaper registered under the Printers and Publishers Ordinance, 1927, sent by the publishers of the newspaper or to any bock in a wrapper submitted unsealed to the Censor for examination before sending.
4. Without prejudice to the provisions of regulations 84 and 86 of the Defence Regulations, 1910, (relating to penalties and the disposal of articles) any greeting card, newspaper, newspaper cutting or bock posted in breach of any of the provisions of this order may be destroyed or disposed of in such manner as the Censor may direct.
