(VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC

ORDINANCE No. 40 of 1912.

REGULATION).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Vehicles and Traffic Regulation Ordinance, 1912, the Governor in Council hereby amends the regulations made under the said Ordinance appearing on pages 723 to 803 of Volume II of the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 edition) as follows:-

Amendments.

1. The table to regulation 4 (1) is amended by the deletion therefrom of the figures and word 30 cents wherever they appear and the substitution therefor of the figures and word “50 cents ".

2. Regulation 4 is amended by the addition of the follow- ing at the end thereof :---

(3) A fee of 25 cents is required for a duplicate of any licence issued under this regulation.**

3. Regulation 8 is amended by the insertion of the figure "(1)" after the figure "8" in the first line thereof and by the addition of the following at the end thereof :-

(2) a fee of $1.00 is required for a duplicate of any licence issued under this regulation."

4. Regulation 14 is amended by the deletion therefrom of the full-stop at the end thereof and by the addition thereto of the following:-

"and a fee of 25 cents is required for a duplicate of any such permit or permission in writing."

5. Regulation 44 is rescinded and the following sub- stituted therefor :

"44.-(1) If in any case, owing to the presence of a vehicle on a road, an accident occurs whereby damage or injury is caused to any person, vehicle, animal or thing, the driver of the vehicle shall stop and, if required so to do by any person having reasonable grounds for so requiring. produce his driver's licence and give his name and address and also the name and address of the owner and the identi- fication marks of the vehicle and shall as soon as reasonably practicable make or cause to be made, either personally or in writing, a report of the accident to the nearest police station.

(2) In this regulation, the expression "animal means any horse, cattle, ass, mule, sheep, pig, goat, or dog.`

6. Regulation 46 (7) (e) is rescinded in the following substituted therefor :-

(e) in any case when, owing to the presence of his vehicle on the road, an accident occurs whereby damage or injury is caused to any person, vehicle, animal or thing, take
