Hong Kong.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the Emergency Powers (Defence) Acts, 1939 and 1940, as extended to the Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Orders in Council, 1939 and 1940, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government amends the Ships (Names. tonnage and sailing dates) Regulations, 1939. published as Government Notification No. 826 in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 56 of the 20th September, 1939, as follows :-

Amendments.

1. In the title to the regulations the word and figures "and 1940" are added after the figures "1939 ".

2. The first paragraph of regulation 1 is rescinded and the following paragraph is substituted therefor :-

1. No person shall display or publish for general infor- mation any notice, list or advertisement containing the names, tonnage or sailing dates of any British or Allied ships or of any neutral ships which are under British or Allied requisition or Government charter.

It is hereby notified that WILLIAM GUERIN FITZ-GIBBON has been re-assigned from the General Group for Essential Services to the Key-Posts Group in the Hong Kong Defence Reserve under the provisions of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1939.
