In exercise of the powers conferred on him by regula- tion 32 of the Defence Regulations, 1939, His Excellency the Governor makes the following order, in the interests of defence and for maintaining supplies and services essential to the life of the community-

Order.

The premises described in the Schedule to this order are hereby declared to be protected places for the purposes of the Defence Regulations. 1939.

Permission to enter or he in any premises to which this order applies may be given by the occupier or a person deputed by him or, if the occupier is a Government depart- ment, by a person deputed by the head of that department.

SCHEDULE.

A.-Oil Installations.

I. The Asiatic Petroleum Company's installation at North Point, Hong Kong, comprising

(1) to the south-west of Oil Street and between Electric Road and the Harbour, Marine Lots Nos. 277 and 281 and Inland Lot No. 1395, and also Hong Kong Permanent Piers Nos. 33, 34 and 35 adjacent to Marine Lot No. 277;

(2) between King's Road and Electric Road, Inland Lots Nos. 1866, 1867 and 2278.

II. The Asiatic Petroleum Company's installation at Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, comprising Kowloon Marine Lot No. 32 and Kowloon Inland Lot No. 915, and also the two adjacent piers, Kowloon Per- manent Piers Nos. 21 and 22.

III. The Texas Company's installation at Tsun Wan, New Territories, comprising Tsun Wan Marine Lot No. 1 and the adjacent pier, Tsum Wan Permanent Pier No. 8.

B.-Gas Works.

I. The Hong Kong and China Gas Company's works and premises in Hong Kong at-

(1) Whitty Street, between Des Voeux Road West and Queen's Road West, comprising Marine Lots Nos. 190 und 191;

(2) between Queen's Road West and Clarence Terrace, Inland Lot No. 834 Section A;

(3) Smithfield, Kennedy Town, Inland Lot No. 4098;

(4) Cross Lane, Wanchai, Inland Lot No. 1251.

II. The Hong Kong and China Gas Company's works and premises in Kowloon at-
