9. Prevention of Eviction Amendment Bill.--The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the First reading of a Bill intituled An Ordinance to amend the Prevention of Eviction Consolidation and Amendment Ordinance, 1939."
The Financial Secretary seconded.
Question-put and agreed to.
Bill read a first time.
10. War Retenue Bill.-The Financial Secretary moved that the Council resolve itself into Committee to consider clause by clause "A Bill to impose war taxes and to regulate the Collection thereof."
The Attorney General seconded,
Council in Committee on the Bill.
The Attorney General moved various amendments to Clauses 2, 5, 6, 9, 11, 16, 21, 21, 25, 10 and 11, renumbering Clause 60 as Clause 61 and the addition of new Clause 60.
On Council resuming, the Financial Secretary reported that the Bill had passed
through Committee with material amendments, and moved that the Bill as amended be published in the Gazette as required by Standing Order 28 (1) before being read a third time.
The Attorney General seconded.
Question-put and agreed to.
ADJOURNMENT.
11. The Council then adjourned until Thursday, the 25th April, 1910, at 2.30 p.m.
