In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939, as applied to this Colony by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, published as Government Notifications Nos. 707 and 708 in the Gazette Extraordinary of the 26th August, 1989, and by regulation 6 of the Defence Regulations, 1939, published as Government Notification No. 703 in the Gazette Extraordinary of the 26th August, 1939, I, Sir GEOFFRY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Com- mander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the sune, hereby revoke the order relating to rates of postage for letters and postcards made under the said powers and published as Government Notification No. 742 in the Gazette Extraordinary of the 3rd September, 1939.

With reference to Government Notifications 263, 276 and 470 in the Gazettes of 1st May, 1931, 16th April, 1937, and 16th June, 1938, respectively, in pursuance of section 6 (3) of the Basel Evangelical Missionary Society Incorporation Ordinance, No. 5 of 1927, it is hereby notified that satis- factory proof of the appointment of FRIEDRICH MEYERHOLT as President in this Colony of the said Society has been placed in the hands of His Excellency the Governor.
