No. 305.-It is hereby notified that Mr. HUMPHREY JOHN CROTTWELL resumed duty as District Officer in the Southern District of the New Territories on 13th March, 1940.

No. 306.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotions in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 23rd February, 1940:-
Corporal KENNETH STRUAN ROBERTSON to be Second Lieutenant.
Corporal IAN PHILIP TAMWORTH to be Second Lieutenant.

No. 307.-llis Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 9 of the regulations of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, to make the following appointment in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force :-

No. 308. The appointment of FRANCIS ALFRED KEMP as Government Wireless Inspector published in G. N. No. 847 in the Gazette of the 23rd October, 1936, has been cancelled, with effect from the 8th March, 1940.

No. 310. His Excellency the Governor, under instructions received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to recognize Mr. ROBERT WATLAND RINDEN as Vice-Consul of the United States of America at Hong Kong.
