No. 58.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ROBERT ANDREW DERMOD FORREST to be Postmaster General, with effect from 12th January, 1940.

No. 59.—It is hereby notified that IIis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ROBERT ANDREW DERMOD FORREST, Postmaster General of Hong Kong, to be a competent authority for the purposes of regulation 7 of the Colonial Defence Regulations.

No. 60.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointment under regulation 5 (1) of the Colonial Defence Regulations :--

No. 63. It is hereby notified that Mr. HUMPHREY JOHN CRUTTWELL resumed duty as District Officer in the Southern District of the New Territories on 16th January, 1940.

No. 64-His Majesty the KING has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Honourable Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, K.C., to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council for a further period of four years, with effect from the 17th January, 1940.
