ORDINANCE No. 6 of 1901. (RATING).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 (2) of the Rating Ordinance, 1901, the Governor in Council has wholly adopted, as the valuation for the period of nine months commencing on the 1st July, 1940, and ending on the 31st March, 1941, the existing valuation of the tenements of the Colony.

ORDINANCE No. 55 of 1936. (LIGHTING CONTROL).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Lighting Control Ordinance, 1936, the Governor in Council hereby makes the following amendments to the regulations. published as Government Notification No. 565 in the Gazette of the 14th July, 1939, as subsequently amended by Govern- ment Notification No. 824 published in the Gazette Extra- ordinary of 20th September, 1939.

Amendments.

1. Regulation 3 is amended by the deletion of "(1)" at the beginning thereof and by the addition thereto of the following paragraph at the end thereof:

(c) Street lights which cannot be extinguished within three minutes.

2. Regulation 5 is amended by the addition of the words "railway carriages" between the word "in" and the word

dwelling-houses in the second line thereof.

3. Regulation 9 is amended by the addition of "(1)" between the figure "9" and the word "vehicles" in the first line thereof.
