NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Firing Practice will be carried out from Stanley Battery between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. on 11th October, 1938.

Alternative date-13th October, 1938.

Firing areas C" and "D" will be affected.

2. Firing practice will be carried out from Pakshawan Battery between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on 10th October, 1938.

Firing area "A" will be affected.

3. Firing practice will be carried out from Pakshawan Battery between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. on 12th and 17th October, 1938.

Alternative dates-14th and 19th October, 1938.

Firing area A will be affected.

4. Firing practice will be carried out from Pakshawan Battery between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12 midnight on 13th and 20th October, 1938.

Alternative dates-18th and 21st October, 1938.

Firing area "A" will be affected.

5. The Firing practice to be carried out from Mount Davis Battery on 10th, 11th and 12th October, 1938, notified in Firing Notice dated 30th September, 1938, para- graph 2, has been cancelled.

6. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

Until further notice, diving and rubble depositing operations will take place in the Harbour within a rectangle 1,500′ x 400' demarked by 4 buoys painted green and white and anchored in the following positions :-

22° 17′ 12′′ N.

114° 9′ 41′′ E.

2.

22° 17' 15" N.

114° 9' 38" E.

3.

22° 17′ 23′′ N.

114° 9′ 523" E.

4.

22° 17' 26" N.

114° 9′ 49′′ E.

All shipping is forbidden to pass over this area or between any of the above-men- tioned buoys.

Notice to Mariners No. 59/1938 is cancelled as from 11.10.38.
