NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

Firing practice will be carried out from Stonecutters Island between the hours of 8.00 p.m. and 12 midnight on 13th and 15th August, 1938.

Firing Area "E" will be affected.

Alternative dates:-8th, 10th and 22nd September, 1938.

In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

No. 8. 248.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should. be clearly marked "Tender for Repairs to Live Stock Pier and Sea Wall at Kennedy Town", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 15th day of August, 1938.

The work comprises the reconstruction of the East landing and raising the level of the Live Stock Pier along with the extension of the Sea Wall for a length of 180 feet and contingent works.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,500 with the Accountant-General.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
