SPECIAL CONDITIONS TO SERIAL No. 15.

1. Before proceeding with any work on the Lot, the Purchaser shall mark its boundaries with six-foot poles, and receive the District Officer's written approval of the boundaries so defined.

2. The Purchaser shall within 3 years from the date of sale construct a bund on the seaward side of the Lot of materials and structure similar to those enclosing the Tai Shang and Lun Tak reclamation and shall maintain the same in good order, condition and repair to the satisfaction of the District Officer.

3. The Lot is sold subject to the right of the public at all times to load and unload any kind of vessel on and along a three foot path on the bund on the seaward side of the Lot and to land, cross and recross the said path with any goods or other articles.

4. The Purchaser shall not divert nor fill in any creek, stream or channel within the Lot without the permission of the District Officer.

5. The Purchaser shall make proper provision for the discharge of all surplus water from the Lot in such a manner as to prevent flooding or other damage to adjoining or neighbouring lands.

6. The Purchaser shall be entitled to recover a proportionate amount of the cost of any part of the bund used by subsequent Purchasers of adjoining Lots; the amount to be estimated by the District Officer.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 223.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Spectacles", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Thursday, the 28th day of July, 1938, for the supply of spectacles to school children on requisition of the Director of Education for the period from 1st September, 1938 to 31st August, 1939.

(a) The successful tenderer will be required to supply spectacles, at the con- tracted price, to all school children who present at his office a prescription countersigned by the Director of Education (or his authorized deputies) and either proffer the said price, or present an order signed by the Director of Education.

(b) Each tenderer should state the cost of various combinations of lenses fitted

in metal frames.

(c) Metal frames of good quality must be supplied and each tenderer will deposit

a specimen frame when submitting the tender.

(d) All spectacles must be delivered according to prescription in accurately fitting.

(e) Each tenderer will state whether he would be willing to provide spectacles for hospital patients at the prices quoted for school children. In the case of hospital patients, all charges must be collected from the patient by the contracting firm.

(f) The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

(g) Any further information may be obtained from the Health Officer for Schools,
