No. S. 44. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate which should be clearly marked "Tender for Repairs to Pitched Slope at Green Island Gunpowder Depot", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 28th day of February, 1938.
The work comprises the repair and strengthening of the pitched slope at Green Island Gunpowder Depot for a length of approximate 500 feet.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,000 with the
Accountant-General.
For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

The firing practice notified in Firing Notice dated 3rd February, 1938, to be carried out from D'Aguilar on 25th and 26th February, 1938, from 0900 hours to 1400 hours has been cancelled.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
Firing practice will be carried out from D'Aguilar on 20th February, 1938, from 0900 hours to 1400 hours.
Firing area "B" will be affected.
In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
