No. 8. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. SYDNEY ASHWORTH to be an Assistant Government Marine Surveyor (Engine Surveyor), Harbour Department, with effect from 27th January, 1930.

No. 82. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to re-appoint Mr. DUDLEY LEONARD KING to be Deputy Superintendent of the Police (Reserve) on his return from leave, with effect from 7th February, 1930.

No. 83.-The King's Exequatur empowering Commendatore EMILIO MANFREDI to act as Consul-General for Italy at Hong Kong has received the signature of His Majesty the King, accordingly, the said Commendatore EMILIO MANFREDI is the duly recognised Consul-General for Italy at Hong Kong.

The Merchant In pursuance of the powers given under section 29 sub-section 5 of Shipping (Convention) Act, 1914", His Majesty by and with the advice of His Privy Council ordered that the provisions of the Merchant Shipping (Convention) Act, 1914 should be postponed from coming into operation until the 1st day of January, 1931.
