In clause 6 section 4, the word "beneficial' was substituted for the word

On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill had passed
through Committee with amendment and moved that it be read a third time.

11. Liquors Amendment Bill.-- The Attorney General moved the Second reading of the Bill intituled “An Ordinance to amend the law relating to intoxicating liquors."

In clause 2, paragraph (a) was substituted by the following paragraph-
(a) by the deletion in paragraph (8) of the words "or the Government Analyst" and by the substitution therefor of the words "or of the Government Analyst or of any analyst in the employment of the Government."
In clause 12 in the tenth line of the proposed section 62A the words "a Govern- ment Analyst" were deleted and the words "the Government Analyst or any analyst in the employment of the Government" were substituted therefor. Clause 17 was deleted and the following clause was substituted therefor –
17. Section 79 of the principal Ordinance is amended as follows:
(a) by the insertion of the words "or any analyst in the employ- ment of the Government" immediately after the words "the Government Analyst" in the second line.

(6) by the substitution of the word "analyst's" for the words
Government Analyst's" in the fourth line.
Clause 18 was deleted and the following clause was substituted therefor-
18. Section 80 of the principal Ordinance is amended as follows:
(a) by the insertion of the words "or by the Monopoly Analyst or
by any other analyst in the employment of the Government immediately after the words "the Government Analyst" in the third line;

(6) by the substitution of the word "analyst" for the words “Government Analyst" in the fifth, sixth and ninth lines. The Hon. Mr R. H. KOTEWALL, C.M.G., LL.D., moved that the proposed new section 87A be deleted and the Hon. Sir SHOUSON CHOW, Kt., seconded.
On a division the amendment was lost by nine votes to five.
Clause 27 was deleted.
The Attorney General announced that the third reading would not be taken until
next meeting.
The Council then resumed.
12. Jesuit Order (Portuguese Province) Incorporation Bill.-The Hon. Mr. W. E. L. SHENTON moved the Second reading of the Bill intituled "An Ordinance to provide for the incorporation of the Procurator in Hong Kong of the Portuguese Province of the Jesuit Order."
