No. 300.--The following persons shall, as from the date of publication of this List, be deemed to have been enrolled in, and to belong to, the General Military Service Force of Hongkong:--

No. 301.--It is hereby notified that the enrolment of KENNETH MENZIES CUMMING, published in Government Notification No. 285 of 26th July, 1918, is cancelled, and that he has been permitted to proceed to the United Kingdom for the purpose of enlisting in His Majesty's regular forces.

No. 302. It is hereby notified that the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury have had under consideration the question of the certification of life in the case of Govern- ment Annuitants residing in British Colonies and Protectorates, and that they are pre- pared, in order to increase the existing facilities for this purpose, to allow such certificates to be given (1) by a Justice of the Peace whose signature shall be verified by a Colonial Authority; (2) or by a Government Police Magistrate; (3) or by the Agent or Manager of a Bank having an Office in London who shall affix his office stamp after his signature.

The Colonial Authority who should verify the signature of a Justice of the Peace, or of a Government Police Magistrate if the latter has no official seal, should be the Colonial Secretary or Chief Secretary of the Colony or Protectorate in which the annuitant resides or, in the absence of such officer, the acting Colonial Secretary or acting Chief Secretary.

No. 303.-It is hereby notified that as from the 1st of March, 1918, all aliens arriving in Costa Rica are required to produce proper passports which identify the bearer. The passports are to be issued by the competent authorities in the country of origin of the aliens or by the Diplomatic or Consular officer of such country accredited to the country from which the individual proceeds, and are to be duly visé by a Costa Rican Diplomatic or Consular representative in the country from which the bearer comes; or in default of such representative, by the representative of a friendly nation in the country where the passport is issued.

2. Immigrants are also required to register themselves, within eight days of their arrival, in the Aliens Register of that province of Costa Rica in which they intend to reside.
