COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT,
No. 226.---It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to exclude the Police Magistrates' Department from the operation of the Holidays Ordi- nance, 1912, Ordinance No. 5 of 1912, on Monday, the 1st July, 1918.
No. 227. It is hereby notified, with reference to Notification No. 534 of the 10th December, 1915, that by Section 4 (2) of the National Registration (Amendment) Act. 1918 [7 and 8 Geo. 5. Ch. 60], the following amendment of Subsection (2) of Section seven of the National Registration Act, 1915, is effected :-
“Subsection (2) of the said section seven (which provides for the registration of unregistered persons arriving in the United Kingdom) shall have effect as if for the words within twenty-eight days' there were substi- tuted the words within fourteen days,' and for the purpose of the said subsection any person who arrived in the United Kingdom before the date of the commencement of this Act, and who on or before that date had not given notice of arrival in accordance with the provisions of the said subsection, shall be deemed to have arrived in the United Kingdom as on that date.”
The amending Act came into operation on 27th February, 1918.
