EXECUTIVE COUNCIL:

No. 57.

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 15 of the Wild Birds Ordinance, 1922, Ordinance No. 15 of 1922, on the 7th day of February, 1929.

The regulations in the Schedule to the Wild Birds Ordinance, 1922, are hereby amended as follows:- ན་

(1) by the substitution of "areas" for "area" in line 2 of regulation 4;

'That part" in line 3 of

(2) by the insertion of "(a)" before the words

regulation 4; and

(3) by the addition to regulation 4 of,---

(b) The whole of the Island of Cheung Chau.

NOTE --The effect of the above regulation is to cause Cheung Chau Island to be a prohibited area whereia no wild bird of any description other than vermin shall be killed, wounded or taken.

No. 58. The Court of the University of Hong Kong, on the 17th day of December, 1928, in exercise of the power in that behalf contained in section 14 of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, amended the Statutes of the University ast follows:

(1) by the substitution, in Class 3 of statute 4, of "The Director of Medical and

Sanitary Services" for "The Principal Civil Medical Officer"; and

(2) by the substitution, in paragraph 2 of statute 5, of "Twenty" for "Seven".

The said amendments, having been allowed by the Governor in Council on the 7th day of February, 1929, become valid aud operative on the publication of this notification.

NOTE. The Statutes of the University are set forth in the Second Schedule to the University Ordinance, 1911. Earlier amendments will be found in Government Notifications Nos. 350 of 1925, 263 of 1926, 71 of 1927 and 333 of 1928, and Ordinance No. 4 of 1927.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 59.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the promo- tion of Lieutenant MAURICE GEORGE NOLL to the rank of Captain in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from the 30th January, 1929.
