Order made by the Governor in Council under Sections 3 and 4 of the Importation and Exportation Ordinance, 1915, Ordinance No. 32 of 1915, on the 14th day of March, 1918.

Rule No. 42, which was made the above Ordinance and was published in the Gazette of the 20th October, 1916, and which was amended by Orders in Council published on the 27th October, 1916, the 4th May, 1917, and the 22nd February, 1918, is further amended by inserting between the word Portugal" and the word "Roumania" the words "Madeira, Porto Santo, the Azores".

NOTE 2.-It should be noted that the fact that goods have been transhipped in, or carried in transit through, a port in the United Kingdom, or in some British Possession, does not relieve the importer from the obligation to produce a certificate of origin and interest, or a certificate of interest, as the case may be, where such obligation would otherwise exist.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 101. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. FRANK BIRLEY JOHNSON to act as Deputy Registrar and Appraiser of the Supreme Court, in addition to his other duties, during the absence of Mr. CHARLES ALEXANDER DICK MELBOURNE or until further notice, with effect from the 13th March, 1918.

No. 102. It is hereby notified for general information that Mr EDWARD DUDLEY CORSCADEN WOLFE has assumed the duties of Police Magistrate during the absence of Mr. ARTHUR DYER BALL, with effect from the 11th March, 1918.

No. 103.--His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to nominate, under the provisions of Statute 4 of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, Mr. WEI YUK, C.M.G., to be a Member of the Court of the University of Hongkong for a term of three years, with effect from the 11th March, 1918, vice Mr. CHANG MING-CHI resigned, and Mr. ROBERT ROSS THOMSON to be a Member of the same Court during the absence of Mr. GEORGE THOMAS EDKINS, with effect from the 11th March, 1918.
