1. The Council met pursuant to adjournment. His Excellency the Officer Adminis-

tering the Government occupied the Chair.

MINUTES.

2. The Minutes of the Meeting held on the 4th October, 1928, were confirmed.

ANNOUNCEMENT.

3. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government referred to the anxiety occasioned by the illness of His Majesty the KING and expressed the general relief felt at His Majesty's progress towards recovery. His Excellency res- pectfully tendered the sincerest sympathy of the Council to Her Majesty the QUEEN and the Royal Family in the anxious period through which they had been and were passing.

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government on behalf of the Coun- cil congratulated Sir HENRY POLLOCK on his recovery and extended to him a very hearty welcome on his return to the Council.

4. The following papers were laid on the table:

Rule made by the Governor in Council under section 18 of the Prisons Ordi-
