No. 547.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, under section 2 of the German Missions Trustees Ordinance, 1923, Ordinance No. 9 of 1923, the Rev. J. C. KNIGHT Anstey to be one of the German Missions Trustees, in succession to the Rev. J. KIRK MACONACHIE, resigned.

By His Excellency WILFRID THOMAS SOUTHORN Esquire Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies.

Whereas, by reason of the serious bodily injury sustained as the result of an acci- dental fall by the Honourable Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, Knight Bachelor and one of His Majesty's Counsel for the Colony of Hong Kong, and Acting Attorney General thereof sufficient cause has appeared to me to declare him incapable of exercising his functions as a member of the Executive Council and as a member of the Legislative Council in and for the Colony, and whereas he has resigned his office as Acting Attorney General. Now therefore I, WILFRID THOMAS SOUTHORN Esquire, Companion of the Most Distin- guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies do hereby by virtue of the power in that behalf vested in me under the Letters Patent passed under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom and the Instructions passed under the Royal Sign Manual and Signet dated the 14th day of February 1917 and the additional Instructions passed under the Royal Sign Manual and Signet on the 10th day of January 1922 do hereby declare, under the Public Seal of the Colony, the said Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, Kt., K.C. to be incapable of exercising his functions as a member of the Executive Council and as a member of the Legislative Council in and for the Colony. And I do hereby subject to His Majesty's pleasure and until further order provisionally appoint CHALONER GRENVILLE ALABASTER Esquire, Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and one of His Majesty's Counsel for the Colony to act as Attorney General and do hereby reappoint the Honourable Mr. JOHN OWEN HUGHES Justice of the Peace to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council and the Honourable Mr. CHARLES GORDON STEWART MACKIE Justice of the Peace to be temporarily a Member of the Legislative Council.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. 549.-It is hereby notified for general information that the Jugoslav Govern- ment has on the 16th of May, 1928, acknowledged the accession of the Colony of Hong Kong to the Anglo-Jugoslav Treaty of Commerce and Navigation concluded in May, 1927. From the 16th May, the stipulations of this Treaty will accordingly apply to the Colony.

Copy of the Treaty may be inspected at the Colonial Secretary's Office.
