5. The Colonial Secretary laid on the table the Report of the Finance Committee
(No. 8), dated 12th July, 1928, and moved its adoption.

MOTIONS.
6. The Colonial Secretary moved the following resolution:-
Whereas by the provisions of section 3 of the Pablic Works Loan Ordi- nance, 1927, it is (inter alia) provided that the Governor may direct that any sums which may not be required for a purpose specified in the Schedule may be appropriated and applied to any other purpose therein specified subject to such transfer of money from one item of the Schedule to any other item thereof being approved by a resolution of the Legislative Council and by the Secretary of State.
And whereas His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has directed that the sum of $500,000 allocated to Item No. 3 of the Schedule, Other Public Works, be appropriated and applied to Item No. 2 of the Schedule, Aerodrome and harbour development. Now it is hereby resolved that the approval of the Legislative Council shall be and is hereby given to the transfer of the sum of $500,000 from Item No. 3 to Item No. 2 of the Schedule.

7. Companies Amendment Bill.-The Attorney General moved the Second reading of the Bill intituled "An Ordinance to amend further the Companies Ordi- nance, 1911."
