SOUTH CHANNEL-APPROACH TO THE YANGTZE.

Changes in the positions of the Tungsha and Kiutoan Lightvessels. REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No 271 (Special), NOTICE is hereby given that the "Kiutoan" Lightvessels bave been shifted as follows:---

Tungsha” nud

The Tungsba" is now moored in 17 feet at Low Water of Spring Tides, 0.6 of a mile S. 42-40 W. from her former position.

The "Kiutoan" is now moored in 27 feet at Low Water of Spring Tides, 0.1 of a mile N. 32° E, from her former position.

CAUTION.

Vessels must now pass to the Southward of both the above named Light vessels.

All bearings given are Magnetic.

YATALA SHOAL.

REFERRING 10 Notice to Mariners No. 16 of 1906, Masters of Vessels and others are hereby informed that a Buoy with a Spherical Top, surmounted by a Half Globe, round side up, and painted Red and White (hori- zontal bands), bas been placed in five (5) fathoms L.W.S. on the N.W, side of the Yatala Shoal. Approximate position-Lat., 35° 44′ 15′′ S. ; Long., 138° 10′ E.

This affects Admiralty Chart No. 2389a, 25, and 1019.

SANITARY DEPARTMENT.

No. 887.-Tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 27th November, 1906, for Two Hopper Steam Barges.

Capacity of each hopper :--6,000 cubic feet.

Hull to be of mild steel not less than 5/20′′ thick. Material, equipment and

all scantlings of hull to Lloyd's requirements.

Boiler and machinery to Board of Trade requirements.

Accommodation to be provided for seven men.

Draft loaded not to exceed 7′ 6′′.

Speed at load draft 6 knots.

Barges to be fully equipped with anchors, chains and regulation lights.

Tenders to be subinitted with detailed specification and plans, stating time and price delivered in Hongkong.

Further particulars can be obtained on application to the Government Marine Surveyor. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
