HARBOUR NOTIFICATION.
No. 4 of 1906.
REFERRING to Harbour Notification No. 1 of 1906, Notice is hereby given that the Superintendent of Customs with the Concurrence of the Consular Body, bas decided to withdraw the declaration of infection, and to suspend the operation of Quarantine Regulations, as regards vessels from the ports of Canton, Hougkong, Swatow and Foochow, from this date.
The importation of the following articles from the above ports is still prohibited, except under the condi- tions prescribed in each case :—
Rags, old Paper--unless accompanied by a certificate of disinfection from the Medical Officer at the
port of shipment.
Coffins containing corpses-unless accompanied by a certificate from the Medical Officer of the port of shipment that the coffin is in sound condition, and that death occurred at least six mouths before shipment.
Earth and Mould--except adherent to plants or bulbs in small quantities and cleanly packed, and accompanied by a certificate from the Medical Officer of the port of shipment that the earth and mould are from a plague-free district.
Old Gunny-bays--unless they are accompanied by a certificate of disinfection giving marks for iden- tification, or have been so cleaned as to show no trace of their former food contents, are liable to be refused entry.
