An Ordinance to make provision with regard to the effect on certain contracts of certain requirements regulations and restrictions rendered necessary by the present war.
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Contracts Short title. (War Restrictions) Ordinance, 1917.

Objects and Reasons,
The object of this bill is to provide relief against actions for breach of contract where the fulfilment of the contract has been interfered with by executive require- ments or restrictions rendered necessary by the war. The bill applies only to contracts to be performed within the Colony. It is founded on section 1 (2) of the Defence of the Realm (Amendment) No. 2, Act, 1915, 5 & 6 Geo. 5, e. 37.

The Lot is sold for the term of Seventy-five years from the 1st day of July, 1898, with the right of renewal for a further term of 24 years less 3 days at a re-assessed Crown Rent as a Building Lot, subject to the General Conditions of Sale published in Government Notification No. 365 of 1906, except Clause 5 thereof, and to the Special Condition No. 5 published in Government Notification No. 278 of 1911.
