The party whose tender may be accepted shall, within three days of the acceptance of his tender, deposit with the Colonial Treasurer approved security of the value of $500 as a guarantee for the fulfilment of the terms of an agreement based upon the conditions of tendering which may be obtained at the Public Works Office.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that, the character, candle pourer and visibility of the light of Omoji-iwa Beacon Light, on N. of Aino-shima, W. entrance to Shimonoseki Strait, will be changed as follows at the beginning of August, 1917 :----

Claracter: Pintsch gas occulting red, duration of light 3 seconds and of
eclipse 2 seconds.
Power-100 candles.
Visible distance:-10 nautical miles in clear night.
Further notice will be given after the above changes have been effected.

Calantas Rock.
August 2, 1917.
Ax automatic acetylene flashing light, showing one white flash every five (5) seconds, was established on July 19, 1917, at Calantas Rock, western entrance of San Bernardino Straits. The light is shown from a white concrete pillar set on top of the rock. Height of light above mean high water, 33 feet, and from base of structure to center of Jantern, 28 feet. The light is visible all around except where obscured by land and from a distance of 10 miles.

Referring to notice to mariners No. 481, dated May 28, 1917, the sixth order occult- ing white light at Sialat Point, western extremity of Catanduanes Island, has been repaired.
