No. S. 194. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for making Tree Pits, planting Trees, and sowing Seeds in situ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 18th August, 1917.

For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.

For specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bonâ tides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person shall refuse to carry out his tender, should his tender be accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICES TO MARINERS.

A WRECKED junk of about 50 or 60 tons has been seen at 4.30 p.m. on 28th July drifting with her mast and other equipment at the point of 13 miles N.E. from Waglan, 22° 14' Lat. N. 114° 30′ Long. E. which is within the usual steamers' track, so that the wreckage is a danger to navigation.

TIENTSIN DISTRICT.

Gulf of Pechili-Approach to Taku Bar.

Taku Light-ressel to be temporarily withdrawn; position to be marked by a Hulk.

NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 25th July, 1917, the Taku Light-vessel will be temporarily removed from her station and replaced by the Customs hulk Tien- ching. The Tienching whilst acting as lightship will hoist a black ball at her masthead and will exhibit a fixed white light, elevated 39 feet above sea level, and visible all round in clear weather at a distance of 10 miles.

The Talon Light-vessel will return to her station on or about the 5th August, 1917.
