No. S. 186. It is hereby notified that a sale by auction of 57 old iron cannon now lying at or near the Police Station, Tung Chung, Lantao Island, will take place at the Office of the Assistant District Officer (South), General Post Office Building, on Monday, August 20th, 1917, at 12 o'clock Noon.

CONDITIONS:--

(a.) The upset price to be $1,000.

(b.) The cannon to be sold in one lot as they lie at present.

(c.) The purchaser to remove them at his own cost. Any holes left in the ground by their removal to be filled in to the satisfaction of the Assistant District Officer, South.

(d.) In the event of more cannon being discovered during the removal of the above mentioned fifty-seven cannon, the purchaser contracts to purchase them at the rate of 14 cents per catty.

The cannon in question can be seen by application to the Sergeant in charge of Tung Chung Police Station.

FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE WRECK

OF THE S.S. SHAOHSING.

Wreck-Marking Buoys Placed in Position.

REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 640, notice is hereby given that the position of the wreck of the S.S. Shaohsing is now as follows:-

From the wreck, the Tungsha Light-vessel bears N. 431° W., magnetic, distant

3:05 miles.

The two green wreck-marking Buoys have been placed in position. One of these Buoys is moored at a distance of 79 cables N. 48° W., magnetic, from the wreck, and the other Buoy is moored at a distance of 74 cables S. 48° E., magnetic, from the wreck. The characteristics of these two Buoys and the lights which they exhibit are as previously notified.
