The following notices have been issued by Mr. F. G. FI66, during the mouth :-
On the 1st at 11.40 a. The barometer has risen along the China Coast, and fallen over Japan and the Philippines. Pressure is high in the neighbourhood of the Loochoos, and also over N.W. China. It is lowest over the Sea of Japan in the North, and over the middle part of the China Sea in the South. Probably a low pressure trough extends over the middle part of the China Sea and the Philippines. The normal pressure is exceeded by about 0.1 inch over the Loochoos, and it is in defect by 0.1 inch and upwards over E. Japan, and by about 0.05 inch over the Philippines." Forecast:-"E. winds, moderate or fresh; showery."
On the 2nd at 11.55 a.- "The barometer has risen a little over the S. and E. coasts of China, and fallen slightly in Formosa. Pressure is highest over Central China, and lowest in the trough lying across the middle part of the China Sea, and extending Eastwards over the Philippines to the Pacific. Pressure is practically normal along the China Coast. It is in defect slightly over 0.05 inch over the Philippines." Forecast:-"E. to N.E. winds, light to moderate; weather improving."
