TASMANIA-EAST COAST.

Cape Forestier-Intended New Light.

MARINERS and others are hereby notified that the new light on Cape Forestier wil be exhibited experimentally on or about 16th August, 1917.

Position.-On the North-Eastern extreme of the Cape. Lat. 42° 11' S.; Long. 148°1

23' E.

Character-Group flashing light with white and red sectors showing four flashes in

quick succession every twenty seconds, thus:-

AUSTRALIA-EAST COAST.

On Outer Barrier Reef-Proposed Establishment of Beacon.

It is prosposed to estabish a beacon on the Outer Barrier Reef near the entrance to the One-and-a-half-Mile Opening. The following are the particulars, riz.:--

Date.--The Beacon will be erected as soon as convenient.

Position.--Latitude, 14° 22' S.; Longitude, 145° 23′ E.

Remarks.-The Beacon, 14 feet in height, triangular in shape, and red in colour, will be erected on a Rock, the top of which is 13 feet above high- water Spring tides. The height of the top of the Beacon above high- water Spring tides will be, approximately, 27 feet.
