This alteration has considerably increased the candle-power of the light, and it should now be visible in clear weather for a distance of 20 nautical miles.

Other characteristics of this Light remain unchanged.

APO ISLAND.

THE sixth order white and red light on Apo Island, Negros, which was published in Notice to Mariners No. 462, dated October 4, 1916, as fixed white light due to an accident to the mechanism, has been reported extinguished. It will be relighted as soon as prac- ticable and notice issued.

CAUIT POINT.

The acetylene flashing white light at Cauit Point, east coast of Mindanao, which was published as not burning in Notice to Mariners No. 473, dated January 15, 1917, has been relighted.

ILOILO STRAITS, WESTERN ENTRANCE,

The following buoys in the western entrance to Iloilo Straits have been moved farther north and moored in six fathoms of water. Their new locations and bearings are as follows :-

First class black can buoy, No. 3. (No. 143, List of Buoys, Beacons, etc., 1916):-

Location:-Off Las Tetas de Guimaras.

Bearings--Las Tetas de Guimaras (northern one) bears South 60° East, true.

Cabalic Point bears South 13° West, true.

Acetylene gas buoy. (No. 144, List of Buoys, etc., 1916):---

Location:-Off Marabuan Point.

Bearings:-Bondulan Point bears North 43° East, true.

North point off Marabuan bears South 33° East, true.

CUYO.

Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 457, dated August 17, 1916, the third class red nun buoy at southern side of entrance to anchorage at Cuyo, Province of Palawan, has been replaced.

Light structure on mole bears North 68° 30′ East, true; distance, about 4 of a mile. (See No. 151, List of Buoys, Beacons, etc., 1916.)
