Amendment of Ordinance No. 6 of 1887 S. 4.

2. Section 4 of the principal Ordinance is amended as follows:-.

(a) by the addition of the following proviso at

the end of clause (2) thereof :-

"provided that no person shall for the

purposes of this Ordinance be

deemed to hold an office or 'situation of emolument under the Crown by reason only of the fact "that such person is a member of the Hongkong Defence Corps and as such member is or may be entitled to receive any pay under the Military Service Ordinance, 1917;

(b) by the repeal of clause (12) thereof and by the substitution of the following clause therefor

"(12) all officers and non-commissioned 'officers of the Hongkong Defence

Corps, and such other efficient 'members of the Hongkong Defence 'Corps as may be allowed by the 'Governor in Council."

No. 409.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of the Hongkong Defence Corps Regulations, 1917, Captain G. E. STEWART to be Adjutant and Quartermaster.

No. 410. It is hereby notified that every alien travelling to or through Sweden,. except children under 12 years of age, will have to be provided with passports, viséd by a Swedish Legation or a Swedish Consul en carrière. In the passport must be indicated the full name, date and place of birth, profession, domicile and description of the holder, as well as the purpose of the journey and the time of validity of the passport; it should further contain photo and specimen signature of the holder, both certified by the authority who issued the passport.
