SECOND SCHEDULE.

1. These regulations may be cited as the Hongkong Short title. Defence Corps Regulations, 1917.

2. In these regulations--

Interpreta- tion.

"The Administrative Commandant ·

means the

officer for the time being entrusted with the general administration of the Corps.

"The Corps" means the Hongkong Defence

Corps.

"The General Officer Commanding the Troops

includes the Senior Officer for the time being commanding the Troops.

CONSTITUTION OF CORPS.

3-(1.) The Corps shall consist of the following Composition

units:

(4.) A company of artillery.

(b.) A company of engineers.

(e) A battalion of infantry.

(2.) Subject to the provisions of the Army Act and of the Military Service Ordinance, 1917, and of these re- gulations, the Corps shall be under the orders of the General Officer Commanding the Troops, subject to the general control of the Governor.

(3.) The company of artillery shall be under the ex- ecutive command of an officer of the Corps appointed by the Governor in that behalf. It shall be under the orders of the Officer Commanding the Royal Artillery of the Garrison for training and inspection.

(4.) The company of engineers shall be under the executive command of an officer of the Corps appointed by the Governor in that behalf. It shall be under the orders of the Chief Engineer of the Garrison for training and inspection.

(5.) The battalion of infantry shall be under the executive command of an officer of His Majesty's Regular Forces appointed by the Governor in that behalf with the consent of the General Officer Commanding the

Troops.

(6.) The general administration of the Corps will be under the Officer Commanding the battalion of infantry, assisted by an administration staff appointed by the Governor.

(7.) The Administrative Commandant may, with the approval of the Governor, establish one or more cadet companies in connection with the Corps, and every such company shall, as regards its establishment, administra- tion, and government, be subject to such regulations as the Administrative Commandant may make with the approval of the Governor.
