* NOTE (1).--Under the Trading with the Enemy Proclamations of the 25th June, and 10th November, 1915, all Proclamations relating to Trading with the Enemy apply to all persons or bodies of persons of enemy nationality, resident or carrying on business in China, Siam, Persia, Morocco, Liberia or Portuguese East Africa, and consequently it is an offence to trade with any person or body of persons of enemy nationality resident or carrying on business in China, Siam, Persia, Morocco, Liberia or Portuguese East Africa, even though such person or body of persons is not included by name in the Statutory List, and the omission of the name of any such person or body of persons from such list is not an authority or licence to trade with such person or body of persons.
NOTE (2).-Where a firm named in the list has more than one branch in the same country, all branches in that country are held to be included in the list even in cases where no address, or of several addresses, one only is specifically mentioned.
NOTE (3). The above additions and removals were made in the United Kingdom on the dates which appear opposite to the respective names.
NOTE (4).—A consolidating statutory list, complete to the 5th April, 1917, may be obtained from the Government Printers, Messrs. Noronha & Co., No. 14A, Des Voeux Road Central, who can also supply copies of the Orders in Council made since that date.

No. 336.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. Harold MACFARLANE to act as Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, in addition to his other duties, during the absence on leave of Mr. ADAM GIBSON or until further notice, with effect from the 26th July, 1917.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
No. 337--It is hereby notified that the following instructions have been received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies with respect to the item "Fruit (canned, bottled, dried, and preserved)" in the Prohibition of Import (Consolidation and Amend- ment) Proclamation, 1917, published in the Gazette of the 8th June, 1917:
A general licence has been conveyed to His Majesty's Customs permitting the importation into the United Kingdom of Dried Fruits which are the pro- duce of His Majesty's Dominions.
Licences to import into the United Kingdom canned, bottled and preserved fruit will be granted up to 50% of the amounts imported during the year of 1916.
