NOTIFICATION No. 58.
THE Dredgers inside Keelung Harbour will henceforth operate in accordance with the following method and Vessels about to pass their neighbourhood must take suitable caution :-
1. Dredgers when operating will have an anchor out at bow and stern respectively and two anchors at
each side.
2. The cables attached to the anchors at bow and stern extend to a distance of from 100 to 150 fathoms, and those attached to the anchors at the two sides for a distance of 50 to 120 fathoms. To the stern cable, in order to keep it afloat, will be attached a red drum-shaped buoy and lighters, etc.
3. Buoys will be placed to mark the positions of the anchors. These buoys will consist of a cone- shaped body painted with scarlet and white bands; their appearance and dimensions are as in the following diagram.*
When a Dredger is operating in the fairway, should a Vessel intimate that it is about to procced by the fairway, the Dredger will facilitate the making of the passage as much as possible, and attention must be paid to the flags of the International Signal Code flown by the Dredger which will fix the course to be taken,
