No. 615.-Sealed tenders will be received at this Office until Noon of Thursday, the 26th instant, for the letting of the old Harbour Office, from the 1st August, 1906, and to the 31st December, 1907, subject to the conditions specified below :-

Each tender should bear on the cover the words "Tender for lease of Old Harbour Office."

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars can be obtained from the Director of Public Works.

Conditions relating to the letting of the Old Harbour Office in Des Vorua Road Central, from the 1st August, 1906, and to the 31st December, 1907,

1. The area leased to be that tinted pink on a plan signed by the Director of Public Works, and dated 19th July, 1906.

2. The amount of monthly rent offered, and the purposes for which it is intended to use the premises to be stated in each tender.

3. The accepted tenderer shall on demand sign an agreement in such form as the Director of Public Works shall approve, containing (inter alia) the following terms and con- ditions :--

(a.) Rent to be paid monthly in advance on the first of each month, commencing

on the 1st August, 1906.

(.) All rates to be paid by the tenant.

(c.) The tenant to execute such repairs as may be necessary to keep the premises

in a safe and sanitary condition.

(1.) No repairs will be executed by the Government.

(e.) The tenant to comply with all laws and regulations relating to buildings and

public health.

(.) The tenant may make reasonable alterations and additions to the buildings, but no alteration or addition shall be made until particulars and plan thereof have been submitted to and approved by the Building Authority.

(7.) The premises to be used only for such purpose or purposes as shall be specified in the tender, unless the previous written consent of the Govern- ment be obtained to use the premises or any part thereof for any other purpose.

(h.) The tenant to insure and keep insured the premises in the sum of $30,000 in the name of the Colonial Treasurer in an office to be approved by the Governor the policy and current receipt for premiums to be deposited in the Treasury.

(¿.) In the event of the monthly rent being at any time in arrear for 14 days, or in the event of any breach of any of the provisions of the agreement, the Government may re-enter upon the premises and the letting shall thereupon be determined.

(j.) On the termination of the letting the premises to be handed over to the Government in a clean condition and in as good a state of repair as they are in at present.

(k.) In the event of the tenant desiring, and the Government consenting, to the continuation of the letting after the expiration of the stipulated term, the tenancy shall thereafter be a monthly tenancy subject to all the foregoing terms and conditions.
