Spencer Gulf. Hummock Hill Jetty.

MASTERS of Vessels, Pilots, and others are informed that the following lights are now exhibited by The Broken Hill Proprietary Co., Ltd., at the sea end of the Hummock Hill Jetty, viz. --Three red lights on each side of the Jetty to mark the dolphins, and one white light in the centre shown from a boom to mark the position of the Jetty.

This affects Admiralty Charts 2389 and 403.

Eastern Shoal-Light Beacon.

MASTERS of Vessels, Pilots, and others are hereby notified that the Beacon marking the North End of Eastern Shoal has been demolished by a passing vessel.

This affects Admiralty Chart No. 2389.

No. 4 of 1916.

River Murray.-Blanchetown.

To Masters of Vessels and others plying on the River Murray. Notice is hereby given that on or about February 25th, 1916, the construction of a Coffer Dam at

Lock No. 1, Blanchetown, River Murray,

will be commenced. A channel for the use of river craft will be kept open on the east side. (or left-hand side of the river proceeding downstream). The open channel, which will have a minimum width of about 270ft., will be marked as follows:-

By Day.—On right-hand side of the channel, proceeding downstream, a Black Beacon with Diamond-shaped Top. On left-hand side of channel, a Red Beacon with Circular Top.

By Night (from Sunset to Sunrise).----On right-hand side, one Green Light; on left- hand side, one Red Light.

The position of the right-hand marks will be subject to alteration, without notice, from time to time, as the work progresses.

Steamers approaching the works at No. 1 Lock, with intention to pass, must blow two long blasts on the whistle when half a mile away from the Lock, if bound down- stream, and one long blast if bound upstream, and must pass the Coffer Dam at a moderate speed.
