NOTICE TO MARINERS, No. 613.

CHINA SEA.

CHEFOO DISTRICT.

Chefoo Harbour Breakwater under Construction.

Alteration in Buoyage.

REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 600, notice is hereby given that the entrance to the harbour under construction is now marked as follows:-

At the northern end of the breakwater which is under construction a black Gas Buoy has been moored, showing an occulting white light every 8 seconds.

At the eastern end of the north arm of the mole under construction a red Spar Buoy has been moored. From sunset to sunrise a red light over a white light will be exhibited from an iron lighter made fast to this Buoy. In weather conditions which would prevent the working of cargo, this light should be considered as unreliable.

Vessels entering or leaving the inner harbour under construction should pass between these two Buoys.

The mole and that part of the breakwater under construction is marked at intervals with bamboos carrying small red flags.

A plan showing the positions of the breakwater and mole under construction is attached hereto.

By Order of the Inspector General of Customs,

THE MARITIME CUSTOMS,

COAST INSPECTOR'S OFFICE,

SHANGHAI, 5st February, 1916.

W. FERD. TYLER,

Coast Inspector.
