An Ordinance to authorize the construction and maintenance of certain Naval and Military Works upon and over certain portions of the Crown foreshore and sea bed situate upon the Harbour frontage of the City of Victoria, in this Colony.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as The Naval and Mili- tary Works Ordinance, 1906.

2.-(a.) It shall be lawful for the Commissioners for executing the Office of Lord High Admiral of the United and maintain Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (hereinafter called the Commissioners) to construct upon and over the Crown the foreshore foreshore and bed of the sea between Murray Pier and and sea bed. Arsenal Street in Victoria in this Colony the works shown and delineated generally in red colour upon a plan signed by Archibald Deacon Shortridge, Esquire, Superintendent Civil Engineer of such works and countersigned by the Director of Public Works, dated the 12th day of April, 1906 and deposited in the Office of the Director of Public Works.

(6.) The Commissioners may make such alterations in the said works as they may deem expedient so long as such works, so altered, shall not extend beyond the limits shown in red colour on the said plan and marked "Harbour Boundary," Eastern Boundary and Western Boundary respectively.

(c) During the construction of the said works, such cofferdams, stagings, and other accessory works as may be necessary or convenient for the execution of the said works, may be temporarily constructed and maintained within the limits specified in sub-section (5).

(d.) Such works when constracted may be maintained so long as they may be required for the use of His Majesty's Services.

3 A duplicate of the said plan signed and countersigned as aforesaid shall be deposited in the Land Registry Office, ̧

4. S far as the said works (including any accessory works) have heretofore been constructed and maintained, ' such construction and maintenance is hereby validated and legalized, for all intents and purposes, as if the same had been duly effected under this Ordinance.

5. All publie rights, privileges and easements in, upon, and over such portions of the Crown foreshore and sea bed as are or shall be occupied by the said works, are hereby public rights determine:l, an i shall be deemed to have ceased to exist
