The rainfall for the month of August at Victoria Peak was 11ins. 13 on 19 days, at Mount Kellett, it was Sins 12 on 15 days, at Botanical Gardens, gins. 87 on 17 days, at Cheung Chau, 8ins. 36 on 14 days, at Sai Kung, 12ins. 62 on 19 days, at Taipo, gins. 35 on 23 days, at Ping Shan, 7ins. 60 on 18 days, at Fanling, 14ins. 90 on 21 days, and at Lok Ma Chau, 9ins. 98 on 22 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 593 at 16h. 00m. on the 9th. The maximum gust velocity as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 42 miles per hour at 13h 59m. on the 1st.
