No. 552.-His Excellency the Governor has approved the following relinquishment of commission in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 9th July, 1938:-

No. 553.-The Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies has been pleased to approve the appointment of Major JAMES LUGARD WILLCOCKS. D.S.O., M.C., to be the Commissioner of Prisons, Hong Kong, with effect from the 17th June, 1938, inclusive.
Major J. L. WILLCOCKS arrived in the Colony on 20th July, 1938.

No. 554.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under the provisions of Statute 4 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, to nominate Mr. THOMAS ERNEST PEARCE as a member of the Court of the University of Hong Kong for a further period of three years, with effect from 12th June, 1938.

No. 555.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 3 (3) of the Vaccination Ordinance, 1923, Ordinance No. 12 of 1923, to cancel the appointment of Mr. E. NUTTALL to act as a Public Vaccinator, which was published in Government Notification No. 438 of the 3rd June, 1938, with effect from 14th July, 1938.
