No. 260.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following appointment in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 17th March, 1938:

Mr. FREDERICK FLIPPANCE to be Captain (Reserve of Officers).

1st April, 1938.

No. 261.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. THOMAS EDWARD JACKSON, to act as Government Marine Surveyor, during the absence on leave of Mr. WILLIAM OSBORNE LAMBERT, with effect from the 2nd April, 1938.

No. 262.-In accordance with regulation 8 of the Regulations as to grant, forfei- ture, restoration and other matters concerning The Efficiency Medal in regard to the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, published as Notification No. 579 in the Gazette of 2nd August, 1935, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to authorize the following award :-
