No. 127.--His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ALEXANDER KURRIK, Cand. Chem., to be an Assistant Analyst, with effect from 1st January, 1938.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of paragraph 1 of Statute 7 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordin- ance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, Professor WALTER BROWN, M.A., B.Sc., F.R.S.E., A.M.I.E.E., to be an additional Member of the Council of the University of Hong Kong for a period of one year, with effect from 1st February, 1938.

Whereas by Section 29 of the Copyright Act, 1911(a) (hereinafter referred to as "the Act'), it is enacted that His Majesty may by Order in Council direct that the Act (except such parts, if any, thereof as may be specified in the Order) shall apply to certain classes of foreign works:
And whereas His Majesty is satisfied that the State of Sarawak has made or has undertaken to make such provision as it appears to His Majesty expedient to require for the
