No. 418-With reference to Government Notification No. 179 of the 18th March, 1904, the following Amendment of the Scavenging and Conservancy Bye-laws, made by the Sanitary Board on the 17th day of April, 1906, and approved by the Legislative Council on the 17th instant, is published.

Amendment of Scavenging and Conservancy Bye-laws made under Section 16 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance. 1903, (Ordinance No. 1 of 1903), and published in the Government Gazelle

on the 18th March, 1904.

Bye-law No. 4 is hereby amended by deleting the full stop at the end thereof and sub- stituting a colon and adding the following words:" in the case of bake-houses, dairies, laundries, opium divans, and premises used for offensive trades, such dust bins shall be constructed of impervious materials to the satisfaction of the Sanitary Board.”

No. 419. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the pro- visions of Section 14 (7) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, (Ordinance No. 10 of 1899), James MACDONALD, Government Marine Surveyor, to approve and certify on his behalf, from time to time, the position of any disc indicating the load-line and any alteration thereof, on all British or Colonial ships registered in the Colony, (except ships under 25 tons, pleasure yachts, ships not trading or plying for hire and ships employed solely as tugs).

No. 420. With reference to Government Notification No. 309 of the 14th May, 1903, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to re-appoint, under the provisions of Section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1884, (Ordinance No. 1 of 1884), Dr. Ho KAI, M.B., C.M., C.M.G., to be a Member of the Medical Board for a further term of three years from the 18th instant.

No. 421. His Excellency the Governor, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to appoint JOHN ERNEST MENAGH to be Chief Store- keeper in connection with the Kowloon-Canton Railway, British Section.

No. 422. With reference to Government Notification No. 511 of the 21st August, 1992, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 2 of the Squatters Ordinance, 1890, (Ordinance No. 5 of 1890), to appoint Joux ROSKRUGE WOOD to be a member of the Squatters' Board, rice FRANCIS JOSEPH BADELEY.
