No. 326.-With reference to Government Notification No. 309 of the 14th May, 1903, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to re-appoint, under section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1884, (Ordinance No. 1 of 1884), EDWARD OSBORNE to be a Member
of the Medical Board.

With reference to Government Notification No. 223 of the 15th April, 1905, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 3 of the Public Health and Buildings Amendment Ordinance, 1903, (Ordinance No. 23 of 1903), Lieut. Col. C. S. SPARKES, R.A.M.C., to be a Member of the Sanitary Board, in place of Lieut.- Col. C. L. JOSLING, R.A.M.C., resigned.

No. 329.-Applications are invited for the posts of Emigration Clerk & Interpreter, and of Registration Clerk, in the Registrar General's Department.
Emigration Clerk & Interpreter.
Qualifications (1.) Correct knowledge of English.
(2.) Knowledge of Cantonese and fair knowledge of a second
Chinese Dialect.
(3.) Ability to translate petitions and business documents into
English.
Salary:-For a candidate who holds a Second Class Interpreter's Certificate, $960 rising to $1,200 per annum by biennial increments of $120. If a candidate is appointed who does not hold this certificate he will be placed on the tem- porary staff with a salary of $900 per annum.
Registration Clerk.
Duties:-Clerical, the compiling of the mortality statistics, the keeping of house-
holders' registers, &c.
Qualifications:-Candidates must have a good knowledge of English and be quick
and accurate at figures.
Salary: $480 rising to $660 by $60 annually (Grade V).
Applications accompanied by testimonials and recommendations should be forwarded to the Colonial Secretary's Office by Wednesday, the 18th of April.
