CHEFOO DISTRICT.
Chefoo Harbour Breakwater under Construction.
Spar Buoy replaced by a Gas-lighted Buoy,
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 593, issued in connexion with the dredging operations for the breakwater under construction at Chefoo Harbour, notice is hereby given that the black Spar Buoy moored northward of the dredger has been replaced by a black Buoy, gas-lighted, moored in a position from which Tower Hill Lighthouse bears. S. 3° W., magnetic, distant 7.6 cables. The Buoy exhibits an occulting white light every 8 seconds, thus:-

Vessels entering the Inner Harbour must pass to the northward of this Buoy.

The Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The risibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only in thick or foggy weather. The heights giren are above high water.

Emery Point Light established.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 3 of 1915, Mariners and others are hereby notified that the light on Emery Point is now permanently established.
Position.--Latitude 12° 27′ S.; Longitude 130° 49′ E.
Structure, Steel skeleton tower, 31 feet high, painted white.
Character. Single flashing White light with Red sector, showing one flash every 3
seconds, thus:

Sector---Shows White from 335° (N. 25° W. Magnetic) through North and East to 139° (S. 4F E. Magnetic) Red thence to 181° (S. 2° E. Magnetic), obscured elsewhere.
Elevation. Sixty feet.
Visibility-White, 13 miles; Red, 6 miles.
Power.---White, 950 candles; Red, 380 candles.
